Race

Common word for Age of Conquest’s fraction. Classification of the sovereigns into two large and distinct populations based on special features and economic and military modifiersImperians and Nomads. The race is selected upon registering. Once set it cannot be switched.

Radius

Influence range unit. 1 radius = 1 Imperial mile

NB! In Imperia Online radius doesn't imply the concept of the geometrical term of the same name. In Imperia Online radius is a unit of length, which measures the distance between the center and whichever terminal point of the influence range circle of one alliance castle.

Rally point

Located on the Global map, this place gathers alliance armies of the same race and serves as a departure point in case of military missions for castle conquest or enemy alliance or rally point assault.

Range attack

A research which upgrades all Ranged units’ (except siege engines) attack parameter. +5% per level, as the maximum level taken into account is 30 (total sum of individual and alliance levels).

Ranged unit

All soldiers and siege engine that launch a projectile without getting face to face to the enemy.
Ranged units in Age of Conquest: archers, cavalry archers, cataphract archers and all siege engines.

Rank (Military rank)

Military title conferred to players with certain amount of military points. Rank is visible in players’ profiles and in the ranking.

Ranking

Classification of players in one realm according to net worth points and military points. The main ranking is the net worth points one. Ranking is actualized once every 24 hours and shows: username, race, military rank, medals (if there are such), alliance and a gear button which reveals different options when clicked on, such as sending a message, invitation to the alliance and show on the Global map . Ranking cannot be used for military interactions such as attack and espionage – theses are executed via Global map only.

Realm

World, server – a place where one era takes place. Only players from the same realm can interact with each other. Realms in Age of Conquest are national/language (Portuguese language, Spanish language, Bulgarian etc.) or international where people of all nationalities can gather. Registering in a certain realm depends on the language the player has set the home page in.

Example: If the home page is set in Portuguese, the player will be registered in one of the Portuguese language realms currently open for registrations. If the home page is set in English, the player will be registered in one of the international realms currently open for registrations.

Realm of Wonders

The Realm of Wonders has the game mechanics of a fast realm with the exception that there are no alliance holdings and alliance armies. On the 20th week after the beginning of the realm, a Lords of the Wonders competition begins. The alliance that manages to maintain control over the seven wonders for 84 hours after the beginning of the competition, wins the era. If there is no alliance to do so until the 8th month after the beginning of the realm, the era ends automatically. The members of the winning alliance have special medal put on their profiles and next to their names in the statistics.

Realm restart

A realm gets restarted when its era ends. An era ends on a date fixed by Imperia Online's administration.

What happens when a realm is restarted?

- Accounts are transferred to the new era but with different location on the Global map.
- Race is selected again.
- Empires' development starts from 0.
- Diamonds and premium memberships are also transferred.
- Alliances automatically start the new era with the same member composition they have finished the last era with without having to be created all over again or manually invite all members. A transferred alliance implies: same name, same members at same positions but with zeroed loyalty statuses, no holdings, no army, empty treasury, zeroed researches and cleared diplomacy standings; new allies cannot be invited until the alliance administration level corresponds to the current number of members; inactive allies (those who didn't log into the accounts yet) can be expelled by the leader when he is at minimum 1000 net worth points.

Rebellion

Annexed province, vassal and colony condition caused by population dissatisfaction due to low local Happiness value. When the Happiness drops below 20, there is a chance, increasing progressively by 2% with every Happiness point (e.g. at 19 points with 2%, at 18 point with 4% and so on), for a rebellion, which could lead to a production suspension, no recruitment and no constructions until Happiness is increased again.

Recovery

The percentage of lost units a player restores after the battle. Base recovery percentage is higher for Nomads and can be raised by both races with Military Medicine level. Maximum recovery percentage – 70%.

Recruitment

Ordering the unit training in the respective barracks. Recruitment requires recruitment price in wood and iron, which increases in accordance with the classes – light, heavy, elite, and idle population – one villager per soldier, but 1 siege engine requires more than one villager for construction.

Reduce with 10 mins

Reduce with 10 mins button gives you the opportunity to reduce the duration of building/research of the current building/research in progress by 10 minutes every hour.

Relief

Feature available just for alliance members with colonies. Implies sending troops to some ally’s colony.

To send army in relief go to Alliance menu >> Colonies tab, select an ally from the drop-down menu and click on Send army in relief button next to the wanted colony.

Type of reports in Age of Conquest: Battle report, Espionage report and Economy report.

Research

Common word for all technologies/abilities/knowledge in Age of Conquest whose all-round development is fragmented into levels. Each level enhances the research’s effect, which is global. The more levels a research has, the more developed it’s considered. Researches are ordered either in the University or in the Science Academy.

Research queue

Players can add up to 8 researches (4 economy and 4 military) in a queue, which will be conducted one after another automatically. All queued researches, except the first one, are in pending mode - their timers are frozen and the time will start decreasing as soon as they become the first research in the queue. A pending research can be moved to first queue position, while the progress of the displaced research is not annulled, but just paused. All researches in progress can be canceled, which gives 50% of the invested resources back. More than one level of the same research can be ordered in one queue, but only the last ordered one can be canceled. Each research at less than 24 remaining hours can be instantly finished for diamonds.

NB! Research queue and canceling a research are both not available while the Empire is being under attack. Canceling a research and displacing researches in the queue are options available for accounts at more than 200 net worth points.

Reserve

Serves for filling in for the front zones in case of Flank or Center defeated units. If two zones are broken at the same time by the enemy’s army, so, randomly, one of them is filled in with reserve units.

Resist charge

The special feature of both Imperian and Nomad heavy spearmen and phalanx – immunity to all cavalry units’ bonus charge, meaning that they evade cavalry’s bonus hit in the first round.

Resource

The goods an Empire produces in the mines or exacts as a tax from its constantly increasing population and later invests in constructions, researches and army.

Retreat

Implies that the defensive army doesn’t fight if the administrative unit is attacked. Retreat is available for all battle types but just in colonies.

Riot

Annexed province, vassal and colony condition caused by population dissatisfaction due to low local Happiness value. When the Happiness drops below 50, there is a chance, increasing progressively by 2% with every Happiness point (e.g. at 49 points with 2%, at 48 point with 4% and so on), for a riot, leading to tax exacting block until Happiness is increased again.

Rookie

1. Military rank conferred to player with 0-149 military points

2. Common name for all ordinary members in first loyalty stage.

Round

Battles’s part, level, fragment. All battles are articulated in rounds in which units inflict and suffer damages in accordance with their own attack and hit points and those of the adversary. The many rounds a battle has, the more unit losses and Morale drop there are.
